Funky flavours and foraged yeast:
Beers and blends, crafted in the Caldera.

Brand identity for Tweed Heads brewery, Caldera Blending and Brewing Co.

Inspired by a quintessentially Australian landscape, with a twist: the CBBCo. brand identity aims to simply evoke a strong sense of place based on their location near Mount Wollombin in the Tweed Ranges of NSW. The brand language relies on bold uses of colour paired with simple graphics to situate their brand exactly where they’re from – the Caldera.

The brand monogram for CBBCo. takes abstracted, geometic letter forms and arranged them as mountains – a simple reference to place, while also being a strong icon for the Caldera brand. Designed to be used with strong colour contrasts, the monogram punctuates the brand on social platforms and becomes a supporting icon across packaging, merchandise and printed applications.

Throughout the project, we looked at a number of ways to represent the region – from producing an illustrated silhouette, right through to understanding and visually interpreting the unique topography of the sunken volcano that is the Caldera.

Throughout our visual research, we found that showing the topography of the area would be a unique brand element – and a perfect complement to the more legible Caldera illustration. By pairing the topographic illustration with the CBBCo. brand colours, we were provided with a beautiful, bold and extremely versatile brand graphic, ideal to create maximum appeal and impact on the shelf.
